Hãng sản xuất ô tô Toyota Motor Corp. của Nhật Bản ngày 7/4 cho biết sẽ phát triển các mẫu xe điện (EV).

Phát biểu tại họp báo sau khi đảm nhiệm vai trò Chủ tịch hãng sản xuất ô tô lớn nhất thế giới vào ngày 1/4, ông Sato nói hãng nỗ lực tối đa trong việc điện hóa, nhằm đạt mục tiêu trung hòa khí thải.
Trong khi tăng cường sản xuất EV, hãng sản xuất xe Prius, mẫu xe chở khách động cơ lai được sản xuất đại trà đầu tiên của thế giới, sẽ vẫn duy trì danh mục các dòng xe bao gồm cả xe động cơ lai và xe sử dụng pin nhiên liệu.
Ông Sato, 53 tuổi, người trước đó là Chủ tịch thương hiệu Lexus của Toyota, đảm nhiệm vị trí Chủ tịch thay ông Akio Toyoda trong lần thay đổi đội ngũ lãnh đạo lần đầu tiên trong 14 năm của hãng./.
