Để hiện thực hóa mục tiêu nằm trong nhóm 3 nhà sản xuất xe điện lớn nhất thế giới, Hyundai có kế hoạch đầu tư khoản tiền khoảng 18 tỷ USD.
Tập đoàn ôtô Hyundai đang đặt mục tiêu trở thành một trong ba nhà sản xuất xe điện hàng đầu thế giới vào năm 2030 thông qua việc bán các mẫu xe điện, kết hợp từ các thương hiệu Hyundai Motor, Kia và Genesis. Để củng cố mục tiêu này, công ty cho biết họ đang có kế hoạch đầu tư khoảng 18 tỷ USD (24 nghìn tỷ won) vào Hyundai Motor, Kia và Hyundai MOBIS (MObility Beyond Integrated Solution) cũng vào năm 2030.
Vào tháng 10 năm ngoái, tập đoàn Hyundai đã tiết lộ sẽ phát triển hai nền tảng xe điện mới, với nền tảng eM dành riêng cho xe chở khách vào năm 2025. Trong khi đó, nền tảng eS có thiết kế “ván trượt” và sẽ được sử dụng riêng cho các phương tiện được chế tạo có mục đích (PBV). Công ty cũng tiết lộ Kia sẽ xây dựng một nhà máy mới dành riêng cho các phương tiện này.
Tập đoàn cũng đã vận hành một chương trình trị giá 3,9 tỷ USD (5,2 nghìn tỷ won) nhằm hỗ trợ tốt hơn cho các nhà cung cấp về các biện pháp cải thiện lãi lỗ, thanh khoản và khả năng cạnh tranh. Hyundai lưu ý rằng họ sẽ chia sẻ gánh nặng chi phí với các nhà cung cấp về sự biến động của nguyên liệu thô và phản ánh những thay đổi về giá hàng hóa được cung cấp.
Ngoài ra, thương hiệu sẽ giúp các nhà cung cấp phụ tùng động cơ đốt trong muốn đa dạng hóa hoạt động kinh doanh của họ bằng cách cung cấp các khoản vay với lãi suất thấp hơn thị trường. Các nhà cung cấp cũng sẽ được hỗ trợ thông qua tư vấn quản lý độc lập nhằm tìm cách phát triển các chiến lược kinh doanh mới trong tương lai và khám phá các động cơ tăng trưởng kinh doanh mới.
